AKC Group has a young and vibrant team guided by its chairman Mr.A.K.C.Thiyagarajan.
Mr.A.K.C.Thiyagarajan (Chairman - AKC Group of Companies) is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist with wide recognition in the Tiruppur, Erode and Coimbatore districts of Tamil Nadu. He is a second generation entrepreneur who took over his family business of rice processing started during the 1960s. Over the years has diversified his business into the plastic manufacturing sector as well.
At present, he has converged all his ventures to create a business group called the AKC Business Group. He is a trustee in Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust (Perundurai) which manages institutions like Kongu Engineering College, Kongu Arts & Science College, Kongu Polytechnic College and Kongu National Matric Higher Sec School. These institutions are ranked amongst the best in the state of Tamil Nadu. In addition he is the correspondent and president of Kongu Educational trust (Uthukuli) which is located at his hometown and caters to the schooling needs of a relatively rural population. His eagerness to promote education of girl children prompted him to donate some of his own land to setup a all-girls government higher secondary school which now caters to about 2000 students.
The group has ventures in the field of Rigid PVC Pipe processing, rice processing and business space rentals.
The continuous business and philanthropic activities by the chairman have created recognition for The “AKC Brand” amongst the people in this part of Tamil Nadu (covering Erode, Tiruppur and Coimbatore districts). In particular, the plastics manufacturing which business serves customers in Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore districts has close to 150 dealers. This has created a huge network of customers, entrepreneurs and friends for this business group.
Our journey with Rigid PVC Pipe processing started as early as 1986. Keeping with our group custom of innovative entrepreneurship we were the pioneers in PVC manufacturing in this region. Thus, “PREEMIER EXTRUSION INDUSTRIES(PEI)” was established to make “PREEMIER” brand PVC pipes for agriculture and domestic plumbing purposes. We have always spelt PREEMIER with a “EE” to provide a uniqueness. Our consistent quality has made “PREEMIER” a house hold name in Tiruppur, Palladam and other adjacent rural areas. This even prompted other companies in our region to imitate the brand name. Now people have given us an exclusive name “Uttukuli PREEMIER” to differentiate our superior quality from other market imitations.
In the year 2001 “PREEMIER EXTRUSION INDUSTRIES” was renamed to “SREE KRISHNA PIPES” but we have retained the “PREEMIER” brand also introduced a PVC Conduit pipe brand “SIVAA” and “Akshara”.
The staple diet of the majority of the global population, the importance of Rice is incontestable as a high energy carbohydrate source. Grown extensively across the fertile South Indian plain, Rice processing and production forms a critical part of our business operations. We acquire produce directly from the farmers at a fair price in various areas in Tamilnadu and neighbouring states which produce distinctive varieties of short grain Rice, medium grain and Basmati Rice that cater to every market segment.
The new thrust on marketing under our own brand names is a critical step forward towards our stated goal of eliminating middlemen and ensuring that both the farmers and consumers get the best possible quality at the best possible price.
